About this tool
Length limits are everywhere: search titles and descriptions, social posts, text messages, form fields and assignments with a character budget. The counter shows all the common metrics at once.
Emoji and combined characters (such as 👍🏽 or letters with accents) count as one character — the way a reader sees them, not as bytes in memory.
How to use

Frequently asked questions
What counts as a character?
Any visible symbol, space or line break. Emoji with modifiers and accented letters count as one character.
How are paragraphs counted?
A paragraph is a block of text separated by a blank line. A single line break does not start a new paragraph.
Is my text stored?
No. Counting happens in your browser; the text is never sent anywhere and is gone when you close the page.
