About this tool
Lorem ipsum is meaningless Latin-like text that designers use instead of real copy. It looks like ordinary text in word length and rhythm, but does not distract readers with meaning.
The generator outputs exactly the number of words you ask for and spreads them evenly across paragraphs. Optionally it starts with the classic “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet”.
How to use
- Set the number of words and paragraphs.
- Click “Generate”.
- Copy the text into your layout.
Examples
50 words, 1 paragraph
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipiscing elit… (exactly 50 words)
300 words, 3 paragraphs
Three paragraphs of 100 words each
Frequently asked questions
Where does Lorem ipsum come from?
It is a scrambled passage from Cicero’s “On the Ends of Good and Evil” (45 BC). Typesetters have used it as filler since the 16th century.
Can I leave Lorem ipsum on a live website?
Better not: search engines treat such pages as low quality and visitors see them as unfinished. Replace placeholders before publishing.
Are there limits?
Up to 5000 words and 100 paragraphs at a time.
